In the heart of East Ogwell lies Pleasant Maris: a traditional Devon cottage accommodating up to seven adults. East Ogwell is a charming village that frequently wins the Best Kept Village award and is home to The Jolly Sailor pub.
One of a pair, with its own enclosed garden, Pleasant Maris is set on a country lane and makes a peaceful and comfortable base for families to explore the superb countryside and coastline of this area. There is no shortage of things to do locally and your only problem will be trying to fit everything in. Dartmoor, only a few miles away, offers superb walking and riding and is home to the Dartmoor pony as well as some of the prettiest villages in Britain. In contrast, the south Devon coast, which is also only a short drive away, boasts sandy beaches and spectacular cliffs.

This is a family-run business, and our business is looking after families. Over 20 years ago (April 1991 to be precise) we moved to Devon. It was love at first sight! Everything about the place seemed perfect…the countryside, the coastline, the people, the villages, the pubs, the fine towns and cities. So much so, that when forced to move on for job reasons it was too much of a wrench to sell up completely and we moved into holiday cottage rentals (although the real reason was that it gave us a place to return to whenever we wanted). As things went well we were lucky enough to buy another property in Devon and we now get to see more of this great area and enable others to do the same.
Our aim is simple – to allow visitors from all corners of the globe to enjoy all that this gem of a county has to offer in an affordable and hassle-free way. Remember, when you book with us there is
