Children and Young Adults
Is your child or young adult finding it difficult to cope with school or college?
Do they have anxiety that has resulted in them dropping out of University?
Are there other issues such as anorexia or self-harm?
What impact is this having on the family?
I work with many children and young adults from 5 to 24 helping them to overcome issues like these and to become more confident and resilient in an ever-changing society. Family situations such as a bereavement, events that occur in schools or clubs, accidental physical injuries, other trauma both physical and emotional, can all lead to issues or illness in the child or young person. No one person will react the same. The response and resulting behaviour is individual. In this way, the work I do is very individual depending on the person I’m working with. No one size fits all.
We also have to understand and appreciate how it is to live in these times, how the cultural shifts are affecting the young in particular. Social media, for example, has had and continues to have a huge impact and not always a good one, however, teaching youngsters how to deal with it, be unaffected negatively by it, to be able to switch off from it literally and figuratively, empowers them.
The following is a list of issues I have helped children and young people with. The list is not exhaustive as I see more and more children and young people for different issues all the time.
