Young people with vision impairment and complex needs get left behind by society.
Our Cause
The children and young adults we support face huge barriers to learning, living and taking an active, independent place in their communities.
Some arrive at InFocus unable to use their voice, or unable to express simple choices like yes and no.
They may need specialist equipment like a wheelchair or powered hoist just to enable them to explore their world.
Others don’t have the mobility skills to be independent in their community and do simple things like taking a bus to the shops or visiting friends.
Our young people see the world differently, and sometimes hardly at all, but could use what vision they do have more effectively with the right specialist input.
What we’re doing about it
With your help, we can inspire, challenge and empower these inspirational young adults to live their best lives.
Each year we provide hours of specialist education, mobility and habilitation training, a range of therapies, interventions to support their vision impairment, employability support, help with Braille and Access Technology, dedicated nursing and healthcare, and much more.
Expert and highly dedicated staff work tirelessly to give these young people the best possible start to their adult lives, and the inspiration to develop their independence and use their voices about the things that really matter to them.
We aspire to have the very best equipment and adapted facilities available and rely on our generous supporters to make this a reality.
We are also passionate about fighting to make sure that these young people can take their place in a society that values them for their contribution and supports their rights
