At Saint Pierre School our primary aim is to work in effective collaboration with parents and pupils to ensure that each individual child is enabled to develop their true potential to the full in all areas of, not just the taught curriculum, but also in extra-curricular activities.
At Saint Pierre School:
• Children feel safe and secure;
• Family values are at the heart of its being;
• The curriculum is broad, balanced and appropriate to the needs of the children.
• Pupils of a wide range of ability and background are welcome.
• All pupils have access to success.
• Parents are included in the process of education via the termly Curriculum Guides.
• Everyone treats each other with generosity, consideration and respect.
• The voice and opinions of pupils are heard through our strong School Council;
• Encouragement and praise are emphasised;
• Rules are positive and devised with children’s input;
• Sanctions are transparent and kept to a minimum.
Early Years
The Early Years Department (Nursery and Reception) provides a happy and stimulating environment where the emphasis is upon developing the whole child. Our dedicated and qualified staff (including specialist staff for a number of subjects – Music, PE, Drama, ICT, Mandarin and French) organise the children’s learning following the seven areas as identified in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Years 1-6
The children in Years 1 – 6 are constantly encouraged to give their very best in all that they do, and our use of ‘Self Assessment’ strategies encourages the children to look at their own performance and set themselves new goals and challenges in discussion with teachers and parents. Children need to take responsibility for their own learning, and we feel that this is the only way that they will give their very best.
Healthy Living
At Saint Pierre School, we pride ourselves on ensuring that all children adopt a healthy lifestyle from the earliest possible age. This really is catering for the mind, body and soul.
Extra Curricular
