For over two decades, Ian Hunter has guided SMEs and growth-stage businesses through pivotal transitions — from funding and recovery to expansion and transformation. With an exceptional background spanning international finance, corporate leadership, and strategic advisory, Ian blends board-level insight with hands-on expertise to drive real, measurable results.
A dual graduate in Economics (BSc, University of Warwick) and Marketing & Communications (BA, University of Westminster), Ian’s career began in educational publishing with Cambridge University Press. Then transitioning to work with international family offices on business launches and turnaround projects worldwide. Before moving to the City of London, where he spent 10 years leading marketing and communications for major stockbrokers and banking institutions. He went on to advise BP Oil on technology restructuring as part of a global change programme and led affinity strategy initiatives with IBM.
Today, Ian is a recognised business mentor and advisor with the UK government programme, Digital Boost where in addition to mentoring he also leads Master Classes. Internationally Ian is a business mentor and Coach with BRINC a leading Hong Kong VC.
Ian is also a multiple NED (non-exec director) with a PLC property developer (six years), a community land trust (two years), Health Tech SaaS (2 years), Textile Manufacturing (3 years)
