What is Benchmarking?

Benchmarking helps you better understand the people you manage, identifies their working strengths and which people management styles best supports them in the role they play in your organisation.

Recent trials with existing and new clients have proved successful in different ways, depending on the challenges each has been facing.

One client needing to review the overall performance of an existing sales team, was able to build a complete outline of every member of the team analysing their hard and soft skills.  Using In Pursuit to complement the DISC profiles, they were able to pinpoint very specific skills where a team member would benefit from being mentored by another team member with that skill in mind. Without this clearly defined action plan, the team efficiency was compromised. Both team members enjoyed the activities and performance improvements became clear.

Another new client found themselves in need to recruit a new member of staff quickly, due to unforeseen circumstances. So quickly, that the interview was planned for the afternoon of our morning meeting. As so often happens in SME business, the interviewer is not a trained recruiter. The Profile People were able to help with an outline of a DISC profile to meet the needs of the job role, supported by an simple skills model in In Pursuit. Both of these together allowed the interviewer to have meaningful discussions about how the interviewee could benefit the business using specific skills. The discussions were meaningful, focused on the job and person match, offering the interviewee the opportunity to show their desires and skills in a positive manner.
